A Special T-shirt for Dad

Surprise dad with a t-shirt made with love! If you make one for each of the kids, they can show their love all day, too!

  • One adult t-shirt (poly / cotton blend, white or light colored)
  • A child-size t-shirt for each child (poly / cotton blend, white or light colored)
  • Ink Jet Printer
  • Iron (No steam)
  • Large pillowcase
  • Hard Smooth Surface that can withstand high heat (Formica recommended)
  • Avery t-shirt transfers

First, decide on a design for the t-shirts. For Father’s Day, you may want to print,

“I Love My Daddy!”,
“World’s Best Daddy”,
“I Daddy”
“My Belongs to Daddy”

You may also consider putting their names or a date on the shirt.

You get the idea! Then, decide on a picture. You can take one of the kids, they can draw one (you can scan it), or you can select one from clip art.

Now follow these steps:

  1. Using any word-processing or graphics software, layout your 8 ½” x 11” design, using the text, photos and graphics you have selected. www.avery.com also has a variety of designs to help you. Click the Avery Print option at the top of the page. Also, most Microsoft Word for Windows versions have pre-designed templates for Avery Products. Just download a pre-designed template from www.avery.com/gallery, then format it in Word.
  2. Flip the design using your software program.
  3. Follow Avery’s directions for printing onto transfer paper and applying to the t-shirt.
